Short Line Data Systems Inc. recently installed its ROCSDispatch system at the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad Co. and Farmrail System Inc. Both short lines are using the General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR) version of the electronic dispatching tool, which is designed for dark territory.

The Rail Operations and Customer Service (ROCS) dispatch system graphically displays railroad operations on a desktop personal computer, and monitors work crews, speed restrictions, out-of-service tracks and train locations.

Later this month, Short Line Data Systems plans to install a Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee (NORAC) version of ROCSDispatch at Finger Lakes Railway Corp. and a passenger excursion ticketing (PET) ROCS system at the Maine Eastern Railroad.

Short Line Data Systems provides Electronic Data Interchange, event reporting, dispatching, car hire, mobile computing, passenger ticketing and fleet management computer applications.
