• In January, Siemens AG will restructure its organization into three sectors — industry, energy and healthcare — and 15 divisions. Siemens AG plans to appoint global heads for each division in December.

• A Bombardier Transportation-led consortium won a $65 million contract from the Latvian Railways to modernize a signaling system on a major east-west corridor. The contract calls for supplying, installing, testing and commissioning a BOMBARDIER INTERFLO 200 signaling system on routes between Krustpils and Rezneke, and Krustpils and Daugavpils by late 2010. The consortium also will provide all telecommunications and power equipment for the line, and install traffic control centers in Jelgava and Daugavpils.

• CIT Group Inc. appointed Paul Curry senior vice president of CIT Rail. He will be responsible for sales efforts in the Northeast and Southeast regions, and several Midwestern states, as well as product management for coal, metals and lumber rail-car fleets. Curry joined CIT Rail in 2000.
