CN yesterday announced the appointment of three vice presidents as part of the railroad's executive changes.

The Class I named John Orr VP of the eastern region, effective March 15; Michael Farkouh, VP of safety and sustainability, effective April 1; and Gerry Weber, VP of supply, fleet and fuel management, effective April 1.

Orr currently is VP and chief safety and sustainability officer, a position he was promoted to in 2011. He joined CN in 1985 as a conductor and has held increasingly responsible operating positions.

Farkouh has served as assistant VP-B.C. South since 2011. He joined CN in 1989 and has held several increasingly responsible positions in the mechanical group and in transportation.

Chief mechanical officer since 2009, Weber joined CN in 1989 and has served in mechanical department senior posts.

"I have worked closely with all three throughout their careers [and] they are very experienced railroaders and reflect the deep bench strength we have at CN," said Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer Jim Vena.
