Badger Mining Corp. (BMC) has completed an arrangement to begin shipping raw and coated premium northern white industrial sand to a new storage and rail-to-truck transloading facility near Edmonton, Alberta.

Operated by Wayfinder Corp., the facility is located on CN's main line and can accommodate up to three unit trains at one time, BMC officials said in a press release.

The new arrangement will allow BMC, which is based in Berlin, Wis., to supply sand to Deep Basin customers in Western Canada.

"CN is pleased to work with Badger Mining and Wayfinder to improve supply chain efficiencies and to increase their frac sand market share," said JJ Ruest, CN's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "CN has made important strategic capital investments in its network to help accommodate the business of frac sand producers in Wisconsin and receivers in Alberta."

BMC now has 25 existing transloading locations in the United States and Canada.
