CN named to 'best' corporate citizen list

CN has been named to media and research company Corporate Knights' 2023 Best 50 Corporate Citizens list for the 15th consecutive year, the Class I announced this week.

The railroad placed first in the freight transportation category, CN officials said in a press release.

Corporate Knights determines the ranking by analyzing 286 of Canada's largest organizations against Canadian and global industry peers. The ranking uses 25 key performance indicators covering resource, employee and financial management, sustainable revenue and investment and supplier performance, CN officials said.

"As a mover of the economy, our first place ranking among our peers in freight transportation stems from a long-standing commitment to integrate sustainability into our strategy and business model, setting ambitious targets and driving for results," said CN President and CEO Tracy Robinson.
