Canadian Pacific announced last week that its 2013 holiday train generated monetary donations exceeding $2 million and collected food donations totaling about 300,000 pounds for North American food banks."This was a record year for the Holiday Train, and Canadian Pacific congratulates all those who rallied together in supporting communities in their fight against hunger," said CP Chief Executive Officer E. Hunter Harrison in a press release.The train stopped in more than 150 communities in Canada and the United States over a three-week period from Nov. 25 through Dec. 19. Major donations included $250,000 to both the Breakfast Club of Canada and Feeding America to support their national programs.Since 1999, CP's holiday train has raised nearly $9.5 million and collected 3.3 million pounds of food. Last year, the Class I raised slightly more than $1 million in donations.
