CP set to collect food, monetary donations on the annual Holiday Train
advertisement
Next month, Canadian Pacific will begin collecting donations again in eight states and six Canadian provinces as part of its annual Holiday Train program. The Class I will operate the “train of lights” for the 13th year, making the Holiday Train “North America’s longest-running rolling food bank fundraiser,” CP officials said in a prepared statement.
The train will roll through about 150 cities and towns from Nov. 25-27. All food and money raised at each stop will remain in the community for local distribution. Since 1999, CP’s Holiday Train program has raised about $5.6 million and collected about 2.5 million pounds of donated food.
The Holiday Train features 14 rail cars decorated with hundreds of thousands of lights and a modified box car that serves as a traveling stage for performers.
