Canadian Pacific will return its Holiday Train to the tracks this year after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

The train will travel to Canadian and U.S. cities to raise money, food donations and awareness for local food banks along the Class I’s network, CP officials said in a press release. Tours were canceled in 2020 and 2021.

The 2022 tour will kick off Nov. 23 in Maine — the first time the train has visited the state. The train then will head to Lac-Megantic, Quebec, the next day for its Canadian route debut.

The tour will feature 168 live shows during its run, which ends Dec. 18 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.  Performers will include musicians Alan Doyle, Tenille Townes, Mackenzie Porter and Lindsay Ell, CP officials said. All shows are free to attend. CP asks attendees to bring a cash or non-perishable food donation, if they're able.

Since launching the Holiday Train in 1999, CP has raised more than CA$21 million in cash and received 5 million pounds of donated food for food banks across North America.
