CPKC honors Cargill Elva, Elbow Lake as top grain elevators

Canadian Pacific Kansas City yesterday announced it recognized Cargill Elva and Elbow Lake Co-op Grain as the top grain elevators of the 2023-2024 crop year for their efficient rail-car loading efforts and commitment to safety.
Each crop year, CPKC presents its Elevator of the Year award to one grain customer in Canada and one in the United States that move high volumes from a single loading point while consistently demonstrating efficient rail-car loading practices and a strong safety commitment.
The 2023-2024 crop year is the first time Cargill Elva, located in Melita, Manitoba, has received the award, CPKC officials said in a press release. Cargill Elva plans to add a new canola processing facility later in 2025.
Meanwhile, the 2023-2024 crop year is the third consecutive time that Elbow Lake Co-op Grain of Elbow Lake, Minnesota, has received the CPKC award. Elbow Lake is CPKC's highest tonnage grain customer, shipping more than 543,000 tons in the full crop year. Elbow Lake also leveraged CPKC’s expanded network by beginning corn shipments to Mexico.
