CPKC recognizes 73 shippers for safe hazmat handling

Canadian Pacific Kansas City last week recognized 73 shippers with its Safe Shipper award for safely transporting hazardous materials in 2023.

CPKC had the lowest Federal Railroad Administration-reportable train accident frequency among Class Is in 2023, which builds on Canadian Pacific’s solo 17-year consecutive run, CPKC officials said in an announcement. These are the first Safe Shipper awards granted as a combined company following the CP and Kansas City Southern merger.

Companies receiving the award had to have transported at least 500 carloads of non-intermodal hazardous materials with zero nonaccidental release incidents. A complete list of shippers that received the award can be found here.
