CN, animal feed firm forge supply chain collaboration pact

CN and Agri-Marché Inc. recently signed an agreement to improve efficiencies in the Quebec grain supply chain and provide better service. Agri-Marché owns and operates animal food mills and supplies, and provides various animal feeds and services.

CN and Agri-Marché plan to measure performance against specific targets and identify ways to mutually improve the grain distribution supply chain. The Class I transports grain to Agri-Marché at Saint-Isidore near Quebec City, Quebec.

The pact will improve Agri-Marché’s relationship with grain suppliers and position the company to grow its market share with CN, said Agri-Marché Operations Manager Jean-Pierre Brochu in a prepared statement.

In summer, the railroad signed comprehensive supply-chain agreements with more than 20 customers in the grain, forest products and metals/minerals segments, said Jean-Jacques Ruest, CN’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

“CN is pursuing commercial agreements with all customers who want to improve the supply chain on a mutually beneficial basis,” he said.
