CSX subsidiary Total Distribution Services Inc. (TDSI) will use electric and autonomous vehicles to shuttle employees from rail-car unloading stations to distant parking areas, the company announced Aug. 4.
The initiative is part of a number of automation projects underway at TDSI, company officials said in a press release.
"We are developing a range of tools and resources that simplify work procedures for our team members and fortify our service product for customers," said TDSI General Manager Bryce Thomas in a press release.
