CSX Corp. appointed Ed Jenkins vice president of market strategy and e-business, effective Aug. 15. He will continue to report to Executive VP and Chief Commercial Officer Clarence Gooden.

Jenkins has fostered the development of the team responsible for translating customer needs and growth opportunities into service innovations that support each of the railroad's key markets, CSX officials said in a press release.

Most recently assistant VP of market strategy and e-business, Jenkins has served CSX for nearly 30 years. He previously held various positions in operations, sales and marketing, and strategy, including AVP of corporate development and strategic planning, and spent several years in management consulting.

"Ed has led remarkable innovations in e-business tools and customer analytics that have helped propel CSX's service insights and service culture and, in these areas, has set industry standards," said Gooden. "His work has helped CSX gain genuine and constant customer engagement and insight. As a result, the company is much more skilled in anticipating and addressing the needs and expectations of current and future customers."
