CSX earns spot on Forbes' best employers list

CSX Corp. has been determined one of "America's Best Employers" according to a new survey published by Forbes magazine.

The Class I was deemed a top employer for its commitment to employee development and diversity, combined with consistently high performance in key business areas, CSX officials said in a press release.

The magazine used a survey of more than 20,000 workers at U.S. companies and divisions of multinationals, nonprofit institutions and government agencies to determine the list.

CSX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Ward said among the company's core values is that "people make the difference." The magazine's recognition is a testament to CSX's efforts, he said.

"CSX is committed to hiring and retaining the best and brightest employees from a variety of backgrounds, and offering opportunities for competitive pay and benefits in an industry that provides critical support to our nation's economy," said Ward.
