Yesterday, CSX Corp. announced it appointed William Clement president of CSX Intermodal (CSXI) to succeed Jim Hertwig, who will retire. The appointment is effective at June’s end.
Currently assistant vice president of sales and marketing for CSXI, Clement has held various operational, analytical and commercial roles in the intermodal industry the past 20 years.
Hertwig became president of CSXI in June 2004. He previously was president of transportation services provider Landstar Logistics Inc. and served on the boards of the Florida Trucking Association and Intermodal Association of North America.
“Jim is an accomplished and highly respected executive in the transportation industry, and we wish him the very best in the future,” said Clarence Gooden, CSX executive VP of sales and marketing and chief commercial officer, in a prepared statement.
