The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is seeking public input as it begins to develop a multimodal, five-year research, development and technology strategic plan as directed by the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.The USDOT's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology is charged with developing the plan, according to a request for information published in the Federal Register.The plan will be used to guide future federal transportation research and development activities. The FAST Act also requires that the plan take into account research and development by other federal, state, local, private-sector and non-profit institutions.Comments must be received by April 29.
