Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Chief Counsel Juan Reyes has become the agency's acting deputy administrator, according to a Politico report.

Reyes is filling the role while current deputy Heath Hall takes "an extended leave," the news site reported late last week.

Hall has been serving as the FRA's acting administrator as the agency awaits U.S. Senate confirmation of Ron Batory, who President Donald Trump nominated to serve as the permanent FRA administrator.

Hall was named deputy administrator in June 2017.
