The National Mediation Board (NMB) has reorganized. The Office of Chief of Staff, the position of chief of staff and the position of assistant chief of staff have been eliminated, while two new offices have been created: Fiscal Services and Information Services. As a result, the NMB has been reorganized into six offices: Legal Affairs, Mediation Services, Arbitration Services, Administration, Fiscal Services and Information Services, NMB officials said in a press release. The heads of each of the six offices now report directly to the chairman and two board members."The board believes that these changes will greatly improve communications and enable the NMB to operate more efficiently and effectively," said NMB Chairman Gerald Fauth III.The NMB is an independent agency created by the Railway Labor Act, which governs labor management relations in the railroad and airline industries.
