FTA extends COVID-19 response reporting requirements

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced this week it will continue requiring data reporting requirements under the FTA Transit COVID-19 Response Program.

The program is an online application that collects information from FTA funding recipients and subrecipients on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on their agencies. FTA uses the data to support the transit industry's response and recovery from the pandemic, as well as implementation of the federal requirement that masks be worn on public transportation.

Since April, the application has used the existing Transit Integrated Appian Development Platform, which hosts the National Transit Database, to reduce burden on reporters, FTA officials said. Collected data includes transit workforce counts, service impacts and transit worker positives, fatalities and recoveries.
