CSX receives SEC subpoena over accounting restatement

CSX Corp. reported in its third-quarter financial document that it received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) enforcement division requesting information relating to, among other things, the accounting restatement disclosed in the company’s Aug. 5 10-Q document filed with the SEC.

CSX also has been responding to the SEC's information requests related to certain CSX non-financial performance metrics. CSX has been cooperating with the SEC by providing it with information related to its requests, the company stated.

"While the company believes its reporting complied with applicable requirements in all material respects, the company cannot anticipate the timing, scope, outcome or possible impact of the investigation, financial or otherwise," CSX said in its third-quarter financial document.
