The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is seeking up to 25 nominations for individuals to serve on the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety (TRACS), which was re-established last month.
Nominees should be knowledgeable of trends and issues in rail and/or bus transit safety. The ideal candidates also must demonstrate leadership and organizational skills in their transit industry experience.
The new TRACS charter, which calls for innovations in public transportation safety, is in effect for two years from the date it’s filed with Congress. The group will make recommendations to the FTA based on transportation safety issues defined by U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and FTA Administrator Nuria Fernandez, according to an FTA press release.
