The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has updated its reporting instructions and templates for sponsors of proposed Capital Investment Grant projects, also known as New Starts/Small Starts and Core Capacity Improvements, the agency announced yesterday.

Posted on the FTA's website, the documents explain what must be provided to the agency for required evaluation and rating of a proposed project.

Those who wish to have their project considered for a funding recommendation in President Obama's upcoming fiscal-year 2016 budget must submit information to the FTA for project evaluation and rating no later than Sept. 10, agency officials said in a press release.

The president's FY2016 budget is expected to be published in February 2015.
