U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx on Sept. 9 will join International Brotherhood of Teamsters President Jim Hoffa and former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour to discuss nationwide infrastructure issues.

Organized by the National Press Club, the meeting is aimed at addressing the need to fund infrastructure building, maintenance and repair.

"It’s clear to every commuting American that this country needs solutions to our overworked infrastructure," National Press Club officials said in a press release, adding that it has been more than a decade since Congress passed a highway bill lasting more than two years.

Additionally, details of the Teamsters' recently launched "Let's Get America Working" campaign will be revealed at the meeting. The effort is aimed at bringing bipartisan attention to the need to fund long-term infrastructure projects, National Press Club officials said.
