The House Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials tomorrow will hold a hearing to examine the state of high-speed rail and the impact of other emerging technologies on U.S. passenger-rail networks, subcommittee Chair Troy Nehls (R-Texas) announced yesterday.
Witnesses scheduled to speak are Andy Daly, senior director of passenger operations, CSX; Stacey Mortensen, executive director, San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority; Lee Ohanian, senior fellow (adjunct), Hoover Institution; and Kirk Watson, mayor of Austin, Texas.
Titled "Getting on the Right Track: Navigating the Future of Intercity Passenger Rail in America," the hearing will begin at 11 a.m. (Eastern time) and will be broadcast live on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's website.
