The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is soliciting candidate projects for a total of $121.6 million in funding through the state's Passenger and Freight Rail Assistance Program (PFRAP).

The program provides enhanced assistance for rail and port capital investments to preserve and enhance the state’s major trade and passenger corridors, according to an NYSDOT press release.

Applications are due Oct. 6.

The NYSDOT will work with potential applicants to expedite the application and contract processes, state officials said. The grants can provide up to 100% of total project costs, however applications that include matching funds will be scored more competitively, they said.

Information on eligible PFRAP projects is available here and the application process, here.
