On Thursday, the OneRail Coalition will host a briefing for congressional staff members titled “The American Rail Industry: Investing in Infrastructure, Creating Jobs.”
The briefing is designed to highlight the impact the freight- and passenger-rail industries have on the economy and job creation. The event will cover how Class Is, short lines, intercity passenger- and commuter-rail operators, and industry suppliers are investing in rail transportation infrastructure, and how those investments create jobs.
OneRail Coalition Director Anne Canby will moderate the briefing. Scheduled panelists include:

• Richard Timmons, president of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association;
• Joe McHugh, Amtrak’s vice president of government affairs and corporate communications;
• John Gray, senior vice president of policy and economics for the Association of American Railroads;
• Don Itzkoff, executive counsel of public policy and government relations for GE Transportation; and
