STB seeks nominees for rail energy transportation panel

The Surface Transportation Board is soliciting nominations to fill six vacancies on its Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee (RETAC).
The board established RETAC in 2007 as a federal advisory committee consisting of a cross-section of energy- and rail-industry stakeholders to advise the board on issues such as rail performance, capacity constraints, infrastructure planning and development, and effective coordination among suppliers, railroads and users of energy resources.
The STB is seeking one representative from Class Is; two representatives from short-line or regional railroads; one representative from biofuel feedstock growers or providers and biofuel refiners, processors and distributors; one representative from private car owners, car lessors or car manufacturers; and one at-large representative.
Due Sept. 15, nominations may be submitted via the board’s e-filing or paper formats. For more information, click here.
