The Surface Transportation Board (STB) yesterday provided additional details on the upcoming public hearing on the revised application for CSX’s proposed acquisition of Pan Am Systems Inc. and its subsidiaries.

The public hearing will be entirely virtual, via Zoom, and begin at 9:30 a.m. ET on Jan. 13 and then continue Jan. 14 to accommodate all speakers, STB officials said in a press release.

A schedule of appearances and instructions for speakers and those who wish to present visual information is available on the STB website.

Headquartered in North Billerica, Massachusetts, Pan Am owns and operates a nearly 1,200-mile network and has a partial interest in the more than 600-mile Pan Am Southern system.

Pan Am's network across New England has access to multiple ports and large-scale commodity producers. The acquisition would expand CSX's reach in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts, while adding Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to the Class I’s existing 23-state network.
