The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will meet tomorrow to consider two bills related to railroad data and information security.

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) Information Security Improvement Act, or H.R. 4921, directs the board to implement an improvement plan for its security information systems, as recommended by the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Safety Data Improvement Act, or H.R. 4925, calls for greater accuracy and quality of safety data collected and reported by the FRA. The bill instructs the FRA to develop a plan and timeline to implement the OIG's recommendations to improve the management and collection of railroad safety data.

In addition to the two bills, the committee will consider its budget estimates. Tomorrow's meeting will occur at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
