Like the STB, the CTA is the economic regulator of freight railroads and certain other modes of transportation in Canada.

The agency leaders met in Ottawa, Canada, to discuss developments in rail transportation, best practices in their respective agencies' regulatory approaches, recent regulatory activities and current events, according to an STB press release.
