The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is seeking public and stakeholder comments on how the department's new Non-Traditional and Emerging Transportation (NETT) Council can respond to the needs of industry and the public.

USDOT created the council in April to identify and resolve jurisdictional and regulatory gaps associated with non-traditional and emerging transportation projects pending before the department, including with respect to safety oversight, environmental review and funding issues.

The department is soliciting feedback on projects, issues or topics that USDOT should consider through the council, including regulatory models and other alternative approaches non-traditional and emerging transportation technologies.

Comments are due by Jan. 10, 2020, according to a USDOT notice published in the Federal Register.
