On Oct. 9 and 10, the Midwest High Speed Rail Association will host its annual Fall Conference, to be held at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago. The conference was expanded to two days because "there's so much to cover," according to the association.
The event will include a luncheon on Oct. 9 to celebrate Illinois' $850 million rail infrastructure appropriation. Guests will include Illinois Rep. Elaine Nekrtiz, chair of the House Railroad Committee, Illinois State Sen. Martin Sandoval, chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn.
Saturday speakers include the Michigan Department of Transportation's Tim Hoeffner, Talgo's Antonio Perez, KPMG's Thomas Mulvihill, TranSystems' Mark Walbrun and Wisconsin DOT's Ron Adams (invited).
