California grassroots group seeks to expand statewide HSR support

Today, grassroots organization Californians for High Speed Rail (CA4HSR) announced it’s launching a new statewide effort to solicit support from state residents for a proposed high-speed rail project.

Founded in 2005, CA4HSR has lobbied lawmakers and other grassroots and public interest groups to back the project. Now, the organization will expand its focus to attract Californians that support high-speed rail to join the organization. 

CA4HSR aims to build grassroots advocacy through social media tools, action alerts, letter-writing campaigns to legislators, pledge campaigns, local advocacy teams and public events. The organization also plans to build political support through direct outreach to legislators, government agencies and partners, such as synergistic non-profits, pro-HSR interest groups and companies, and conduct a membership/donation drive to recruit like-minded partners, members and donors.
