On Jan. 7, the Virginia-North Carolina Interstate High Speed Rail Compact will hold a meeting in Richmond, Va., to review progress on the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor (SEHSR).

On the agenda: updates on corridor developments, including the Richmond-to-Hampton Roads, Richmond-to-Washington, D.C., and Richmond-to-Raleigh segments; railroad agreements; the Southeast High Speed Rail Conference report; and a report from the Richmond, Hampton Roads and Research Triangle Business Group.

Authorized by Congress and established through legislation enacted by the Virginia and North Carolina general assemblies, the compact works to advance high-speed rail initiatives along the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor, which eventually will run between Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, N.C.
