Illinois DOT to host meeting on Chicago-St. Louis high-speed rail project

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host a public meeting for the Illinois high-speed rail Chicago-to-St. Louis project on Thursday in Raymond, Ill.

IDOT officials will present information on the environmental assessment for the Girard Siding, which is located along a Union Pacific Railroad line from Virden, Ill., at the north to Nilwood, Ill, at the south, IDOT officials said in a press release.

In addition, information will be presented about construction planned for this summer along a UP route from Thayer to Carlinville, Ill.
