Alstom-led consortium to build high-speed line in Argentina
advertisement
The Argentine government recently announced plans to award Alstom and consortium partners IECSA, Empea and Isolux Corsan a contract to build a high-speed rail line linking Buenos Aires, Rosario and Cordoba. The parties expect to sign an agreement during the next few months.
Eight double-deck high-speed trains, with capacity for 500 passengers each, will operate over the 440-mile, seven-station line at speeds approaching 200 mph.
Alstom will provide project management and engineering services; supply the rolling stock, signaling and communications systems, and electrification; and maintain the system. IECSA and Isolux Corsan will be in charge of civil works, and Empea will help Alstom construct the tracks.
