Yesterday, Alstom took the wraps off new high-speed trains being delivered to operators in the United Kingdom and Italy.
In the coming weeks, Alstom plans to begin delivering Penolino trains to U.K. rail operator Virgin Trains, which currently operates 53 of the units. In 2012, Virgin Trains will take delivery of three new trains and 62 more carriages.
Alstom also will soon begin delivering 25 AGV.italo trains to new Italian rail operator Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV). The agency will be the first privately owned operator of very high-speed trains in Europe.
