Amberg Technologies recently announced that 288 of its GRP track surveying systems have been installed on China’s high-speed rail system.
The country is installing the GRP 1000 configuration, which is designed for special requirements of slab track construction. The system enables the tracks to be built with “millimeter accuracy” and “comprehensively documented for quality assurance during the construction phase and final verification,” according to a prepared statement.
The GRP system is being used for high-speed rail projects throughout Asia and Europe, and recently was introduced in North America, according to Amberg. Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd. and RailWorks Corp. currently are using the system.
