The American High Speed Rail Alliance (AHSRA) recently appointed a new advisory board member: The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen’s (BLET) Vice President & National Legislative Representative John Tolman.

Last month, AHSRA unveiled a 12-member panel, chaired by Al Swift, former Congressman from Washington state. Tolman is advisory board member No. 13.

“With interest in high-speed rail at a peak, I believe that the BLET needs to ensure that
the interests of our members are protected,” said BLET National President Dennis Pierce in a prepared statement. “I have every confidence that Brother Tolman will serve as a persuasive advocate for BLET members and all of rail labor."
