Amtrak deploys Wi-Fi on Acela trains

advertisement

Amtrak recently launched wireless fidelity Internet service aboard all 20 high-speed Acela Express trains in six major stations along the Northeast Corridor and in all four ClubAcela lounges.

Business- and first-class passengers can use the service, known as AmtrakConnect, for general Web surfing and email, as well as access their corporate networks through most standard virtual private network solutions.

The service will be free of charge during the introductory period, after which the policy will be reviewed based on customer demand and system performance. The Wi-Fi service was deployed by GBS Group and partner Nomad Digital.
