Réseau Ferré de France (French Railway Infrastructure) has awarded a $19.8 million contract to Ansaldo STS’ French subsidiary to provide a complete signaling system for a new section of the East European High Speed line.

The 65-mile Baudrecourt-to-Vendenheim section is the second phase of the high-speed line, which connects Luxembourg and Germany. Ansaldo STS will provide its interlocking SEI associated with the TVM430 signaling system, and related equipment such as hot box detectors and track circuits. The technology will enable the French railway to operate trains up to 320 kph and reduce trip time from Paris to Strasbourg to one hour, 50 minutes.
