CHSRA, design-build teams to meet with small and disadvantaged businesses

On Aug. 14, the California High-Speed Rail Authority will host an industry forum to provide firms interested in pursuing high-speed rail contracts with an overview of the request for qualifications, which is scheduled to be released in September.
The forum will feature a general session, followed by a teaming event, during which potential prime contractors will be encouraged to set up an exhibition area to provide information to and gather information from small and disadvantaged business enterprises.
Meanwhile, the five pre-qualified design-build firms that are preparing to submit their proposal for the initial construction segment individually will hold business opportunity meetings. The meetings will provide interested small and disadvantaged businesses with an opportunity to learn the specific bidding and subcontracting details for each design-build team.
Networking opportunities with the CA High-Speed Rail Partners (Fluor/Skanska/PCL/HDR-Design) and CA High-Speed Ventures (Kiewit/Granite/Comsa Emte) teams will be held Aug. 6 in Valencia and Aug. 13 in Sacramento.
