Last week, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) appointed Christopher Ryan to the newly created position of chief of staff.

He will be responsible for the authority’s administration, including staffing needs, fiscal affairs and budgeting.

Ryan most recently served as bureau chief for the California Department of Justice’s department of technology services, where he oversaw technology infrastructure, managed the development of new software and led a staff of more than 100 people. He previously was a deputy legislative secretary responsible for public safety issues in Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office. He also has served as a principal consultant for the California State Assembly supporting the general government Budget Committee and Appropriations Committee, budget officer for the Office of the Attorney General, financial analyst with the Department of Finance and state auditor.
