The California High-Speed Rail Authority announced this week it has completed construction of the McCombs Road overcrossing in Kern County.

The overcrossing will take traffic over future high-speed rail lines and State Route 43 north of Wasco, California, CHSRA officials said in a press release. The grade separation spans 415 feet and 40 feet wide.

The work began in 2020, requiring 15 pre-cast concrete girders, 158 deck panels and more than 2,300 cubic yards of concrete, CHSRA officials said.

This is the second overcrossing to be completed this month after the authority wrapped up construction of the Elkhorn Avenue overcrossing in Fresno County. Earlier this year, the authority completed grade separations at Idaho and Dover avenues in Kings County and completed the Cedar Viaduct in Fresno County.
