Yesterday, the California state assembly voted in favor of a bill requiring companies seeking high-speed rail contracts with the state to disclose any role they played during the Holocaust, according to an Aug. 25 article by the Associated Press.

Companies would have to reveal any involvement in transporting people to concentration, prisoner-of-war, labor or extermination camps during World War II. Supporters say it will promote accountability and help fill gaps in the historical record, according to the article.

The bill has been sent to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
