The Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Division of Transit & Rail recently kicked off an interregional connectivity study that will examine the technology, alignment and financial/funding options for implementing high-speed rail along the Front Range.

The study area extends from Fort Collins to Pueblo, and includes the Denver and Colorado Springs metropolitan areas. The study will build off of past feasibility and technical studies related to high-speed rail options throughout the state.

The project team is coordinating with another CDOT study team to determine the feasibility of an advanced guideway system from Denver to Eagle via the I-70 mountain corridor.
