Florida DOT to hold public meeting in Lakeland

Gov. Rick Scott still is mum on whether or not he’ll give the official go-ahead to further advance Florida’s Tampa-Orlando high-speed rail project, saying he’s waiting to review results of a feasibility study due in February. But in the meantime, it’s business as usual for the Florida Department of Transportation, which will hold a public hearing on Jan. 26 in Lakeland.

Officials will provide information on potential Polk County station locations, including stations proposed at SR 570 West, Kathleen Road and the University of South Florida Polytechnic. They’ll also obtain feedback from meeting attendees and answer questions.
