In mid-April, newspaper reports surfaced that Kevin Thibault, executive director of the now-defunct Florida Rail Enterprise, was leaving the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to pursue a new career opportunity. Now, he’s resurfaced at a well-known engineering firm.

Parsons announced today the firm has appointed Thibault vice president and market development manager for state transportation programs in the United States. He will be responsible for “developing Parsons’ relationships in strategic markets, as well as other multi-modal transportation initiatives,” according to a press release.

Thibault has more than 25 years of professional engineering experience. Prior to overseeing Florida’s high-speed rail program, he served as interim executive director and production director for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, and assistant secretary of engineering and operations for FDOT.
