IDOT receives crossing elimination grant for Chicago-St. Louis corridor

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) recently received a $750,000 grant through the Federal Railroad Administration’s Railway-Highway Crossing Hazard Elimination in High-Speed Rail Corridors program.
IDOT will use the funds will be used to close a six-track crossing in Wood River along the Chicago-St. Louis high-speed rail corridor.
“These funds will help ensure that proper safety measures are in place as we proceed with the construction of the Chicago-St. Louis high-speed rail corridor,” Costello said in a prepared statement.
