Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin recently signed a bill that establishes a task force to study 80 mph passenger-rail operations between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The Eastern Flyer Passenger Rail Development Task Force will study and develop a plan to expand “conventional” passenger-rail service, as well as high-speed rail service, between the two cities under a public-private partnership, according to the bill.
The 13-member task force is expected to submit a final report to the governor by Dec. 31, 2012.
